Such communications may include account notifications, security alerts, transaction confirmations, billing information, legal notices, Service updates, and other communications relating to your use of the Service.
You agree that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that communications be provided in writing, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
Chapter 2 – Eligibility
2.1 Minimum Age Requirement
The Service is intended exclusively for adults.
You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction if higher, to create an Account or use the Service.
The Service is not intended for minors under any circumstances.
By creating an Account or using the Service, you confirm that you meet the applicable minimum age requirement.
WDC reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any Account reasonably believed to have been created or used by a person who does not satisfy this requirement.
2.2 Legal Capacity
You confirm that you have the legal capacity and authority to enter into these Terms.
If you do not have the legal capacity required under the laws applicable to you, you must not access or use the Service.
Where permitted by applicable law, WDC may require additional information to verify your eligibility before granting access to certain features.
2.3 Accurate Information
You agree to provide information that is accurate, complete and kept reasonably up to date throughout your use of the Service.
You must not knowingly:
- provide false or misleading personal information;
- impersonate another person;

By registering an Account, you further confirm that:
- you meet the applicable age requirement;
- you are registering on your own behalf;
- you will use the Service only for lawful purposes; and
- WDC may rely upon the information you provide.
Providing intentionally false information or declarations constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may result in suspension or termination of your Account.
2.4 One Account Per Individual
Unless expressly authorised by WDC, each individual may maintain only one personal Account.
You must not create multiple Accounts to:
- circumvent restrictions or enforcement measures;
- avoid moderation actions;
- manipulate search results;
- obtain unfair advantages;
- mislead other users;
- abuse promotional offers; or
- engage in fraudulent or deceptive activity.
WDC may merge, suspend or permanently terminate duplicate Accounts at its reasonable discretion.
2.5 Business Use
The Service is intended primarily for personal use.
Businesses, organisations and other commercial entities may use the Service only where expressly permitted by WDC, including through Advertising Services or other business features made available by the Service.
Personal Accounts must not be used for undisclosed commercial purposes.
2.6 Restricted Jurisdictions
The availability of the Service may vary depending on applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
WDC reserves the right to restrict or refuse access to the Service, in whole or in part, in jurisdictions where providing the Service would be unlawful, restricted or commercially impractical.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with the laws applicable to you.
2.7 Verification
To protect the Service, its users and to comply with applicable legal requirements, WDC may request verification of information provided by a User.
Verification may include, without limitation:
- email verification;
- telephone number verification;
- age verification;
- identity verification;
- payment verification; or
- verification required for access to specific features.
Failure to complete requested verification may result in restricted access to certain features or suspension of the Account.
WDC may introduce additional verification methods in the future where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, regulatory compliance or protection of the Service and its users.
2.8 Right to Refuse Registration
To the extent permitted by applicable law, WDC reserves the right to refuse registration, suspend an application or decline to activate an Account where WDC reasonably believes that:
- these Terms would be violated;
- the registration contains materially inaccurate information;
- the registration presents a security or fraud risk;
- applicable law requires refusal; or
- activation would otherwise pose an unacceptable risk to the Service or its users.
Where legally permitted, WDC is not required to disclose the specific reasons for such decisions if doing so would compromise security, fraud prevention or legal compliance.
Chapter 3 – User Accounts
3.1 Account Registration
To access certain features of the Service, you must create a personal Account.
When registering, you agree to provide accurate, complete and reasonably up-to-date information as requested by WDC.
An Account is personal to the registered User and may not be sold, transferred, assigned or otherwise made available to another person unless expressly authorised by WDC.
Registration does not guarantee acceptance into the Service. WDC reserves the right to refuse, suspend or terminate an Account in accordance with these Terms.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your Account credentials, including your password and any authentication methods associated with your Account.
You agree to:
- choose a secure password;
- keep your login credentials confidential;
- not permit another person to use your Account; and
- notify WDC without undue delay if you suspect unauthorised access or misuse of your Account.
You are responsible for all activity carried out through your Account unless otherwise required by applicable law.
WDC is not responsible for losses resulting from your failure to protect your Account credentials.
3.3 Contact Information
A valid email address is required to maintain an Account.
You are responsible for ensuring that your contact information remains accurate and accessible.
WDC may use your registered contact details to send security alerts, service notices, billing information, moderation decisions and other communications relating to the Service.
Failure to maintain valid contact information may limit your ability to use certain features of the Service.
3.4 Account Ownership
The individual who registers an Account is deemed to be its lawful owner unless WDC reasonably determines otherwise based on reliable evidence.
Account ownership may not be transferred without WDC's prior written consent.
Where competing ownership claims arise, WDC reserves the right to determine ownership based on the information reasonably available.
3.5 Responsibility for Account Activity
You remain responsible for all activity conducted through your Account, including profile updates, User Content, messages, purchases, advertising orders, payments and interactions with other users.
You must not allow any other person to access or use your Account.
3.6 Account Protection
WDC implements reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect the security of the Service and user Accounts.
However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
If WDC reasonably believes that an Account has been compromised, misused or involved in fraudulent activity, WDC may, where reasonably necessary and without prior notice:
- temporarily suspend the Account;
- require additional verification;
- restrict access to certain features;
- invalidate active sessions;
- require a password reset; or
- investigate the suspected activity.
These measures are intended to protect both the affected User and the integrity of the Service.
3.7 Account Recovery
Where technically feasible, WDC may provide procedures that allow Users to recover access to their Accounts.
Before restoring access, WDC may require reasonable proof of identity or Account ownership.
Failure to provide sufficient evidence may prevent Account recovery.
3.8 Inactive Accounts
To maintain the security, integrity and efficient operation of the Service, WDC may identify Accounts that remain inactive for an extended period.
Where reasonably practicable, WDC will attempt to notify the User before restricting or removing an inactive Account.
The retention, restriction and deletion of inactive Accounts are governed by the Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy.
3.9 Account Closure
You may close your Account at any time using the tools provided within the Service or by contacting WDC.
Closing an Account does not require WDC to immediately delete all associated information where retention is necessary for:
- compliance with applicable law;
- fraud prevention;
- dispute resolution;
- financial and accounting obligations;
- enforcement of these Terms; or
- protection of other users and the Service.
The processing and retention of personal data following Account closure are described in the Privacy Policy and the Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy.
3.10 Availability of Features
Access to certain features of the Service may depend on factors including:
- your Account status;
- verification status;
- Premium Membership or available Credits;
- geographical availability;
- technical compatibility; and
- applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
WDC may modify, suspend or discontinue individual features of the Service at any time without affecting the validity of these Terms.
Chapter 4 – User Profiles
4.1 Purpose of User Profiles
User Profiles enable Users to present themselves to others and participate in the social and communication features of the Service.
A Profile may contain information voluntarily provided by the User, including, where supported by the Service:
- display name;
- photographs and other media;
- gender;
- age;
- location;
- languages;
- interests;
- personal descriptions;
- dating preferences; and
- other profile information made available through the Service.
Users are solely responsible for the accuracy and content of their Profiles.
4.2 Profile Accuracy
Users must ensure that their Profiles remain reasonably accurate and are not materially misleading.
Users must not intentionally misrepresent:
- their identity;
- their age;
- their appearance;
- their relationship status, where provided; or
- any other material information that could reasonably influence another User's decision to interact with them.
Users are encouraged to keep their Profiles up to date.
4.3 Profile Photographs and Media
Users may upload photographs and other media where permitted by the Service.
By uploading User Content, the User confirms that:
- they own the Content or possess all necessary rights and permissions to use it;
- the Content does not infringe any third-party rights;
- the Content complies with these Terms and applicable law.
Users remain solely responsible for all User Content they publish.
4.4 Automated Moderation
To protect the safety, integrity and lawful operation of the Service, WDC may use automated technologies, including artificial intelligence, to review User Content.
Automated moderation may assist in identifying, among other things:
- prohibited or illegal Content;
- manipulated or deceptive images;
- spam or automated activity;
- fraudulent behaviour;
- security threats; and
- potential violations of these Terms.
Automated moderation supports, but does not replace, human review.
Automated systems may produce false positives or false negatives and should not be considered infallible.
4.5 Human Moderation
WDC may manually review Profiles and User Content where reasonably necessary to:
- approve submitted Content;
- investigate reports;
- verify compliance with these Terms;
- protect Users;
- prevent fraud; or
- comply with applicable law.
Moderation decisions are made using reasonable judgment based on the information available at the time of review.
WDC is not obligated to manually review every Profile, photograph or other User Content submitted to the Service.
4.6 Approval of Profile Content
Certain Profile Content may require approval before becoming visible within the Service.
Approval requirements may vary depending on:
- the type of Content;
- the User's Account or verification status;
- previous moderation history;
- legal or regulatory requirements; and
- security considerations.
Approval or publication of Content does not constitute any representation, warranty or guarantee by WDC regarding the legality, authenticity, accuracy, reliability or suitability of that Content.
4.7 No Verification or Endorsement
The approval, publication or continued availability of a User Profile does not constitute verification, endorsement or certification by WDC of the User's identity, honesty, intentions, authenticity or suitability.
Users are solely responsible for evaluating the information provided by other Users and for deciding whether to interact with them.
4.8 Profile Visibility
The visibility of Profiles or individual Profile Content may depend on factors including:
- User settings;
- privacy preferences;
- Premium Membership;
- Gallery Unlock;
- moderation status;
- geographical availability; and
- other features of the Service.
WDC may modify how Profile information is displayed as the Service evolves.
WDC does not guarantee that any Profile will receive visibility, impressions, matches, messages or other interactions from other Users.
4.9 Profile Updates
Users may update their Profiles using the tools provided by the Service.
Updated Profile Content may be subject to moderation before becoming publicly visible and may therefore be temporarily unavailable.
WDC reserves the right to reject, remove or require modification of Profile Content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
4.10 Removal or Restriction of Profile Content
WDC may remove, hide or restrict access to Profile Content where it reasonably believes that the Content:
- violates these Terms;
- infringes the rights of another person;
- presents a security or fraud risk;
- is unlawful; or
- otherwise threatens the safety, integrity or operation of the Service.
Where appropriate and reasonably practicable, WDC may notify the affected User of such action.
Removal of individual Profile Content does not require WDC to suspend or terminate the associated Account.
4.11 User Responsibility
Users remain solely responsible for all User Content they publish and for any interactions arising from their Profiles.
WDC does not guarantee the authenticity, accuracy, completeness, reliability or intentions of any User or the information contained in User Profiles.
Users should exercise appropriate judgment and caution when communicating with or meeting other Users.
Chapter 5 – Community Standards

- threaten or encourage violence;
- organise or facilitate criminal activity;

- facilitate activities that present a serious risk to public safety.
Credible threats to personal safety may result in immediate enforcement action and, where required by law, referral to the appropriate authorities.
5.6 Sexual Content
WDC is an adult-oriented dating platform and recognises that Users may discuss relationships, dating and intimacy.
However, Users must not publish or distribute Content that:
- is sexually explicit or pornographic;

Unless expressly authorised by WDC, personal Accounts must not be used for commercial activities, including:
- unsolicited advertising;
- affiliate marketing;
- mass messaging;
- lead generation;
- recruitment;

Users must not generate spam, automated messaging or repetitive unsolicited communications.
WDC may use automated tools to detect spam, bots and abusive messaging patterns.
5.9 Impersonation
Users must not impersonate another person, organisation or public figure, including:
- another User;
- WDC personnel;
- government officials;
- celebrities; or
- organisations without proper authority.
Profiles intended to mislead others regarding a person's identity are prohibited.
5.10 Illegal Content and Privacy

Users must also respect the privacy of other individuals and must not disclose another person's personal or confidential information without lawful authority.
Where required by applicable law, WDC may preserve relevant information and cooperate with competent authorities.
5.11 Reporting Violations
Users are encouraged to report suspected violations of these Terms in good faith.
Knowingly submitting false, misleading or malicious reports may itself constitute a violation of these Terms.
5.12 Enforcement
Violations of these Community Standards may result in enforcement measures described elsewhere in these Terms, including warnings, Content removal, feature restrictions, Account suspension or Account termination.
WDC will determine the appropriate response based on the nature, severity and frequency of the violation, taking into account the safety of the Service and its Users.
Immediate action may be taken where reasonably necessary to prevent harm, protect Users, comply with applicable law or preserve the integrity of the Service.
5.13 Good Faith Use
Users must use the Service in good faith and only for its intended purpose.
Attempts to exploit technical vulnerabilities, manipulate algorithms, abuse promotional offers or otherwise obtain an unfair advantage are prohibited.
5.14 Protection of the Community
These Community Standards cannot anticipate every form of unacceptable conduct.
Accordingly, WDC may take proportionate action against behaviour that, while not expressly prohibited by these Terms, reasonably undermines the safety, security, integrity or intended purpose of the Service.
Any action taken under this Section will be reasonable, proportionate and consistent with applicable law.
Chapter 6 – User Content
6.1 Ownership of User Content
Users retain ownership of all intellectual property rights in the User Content they create and upload to the Service.
Except for the licence granted under these Terms, nothing transfers ownership of User Content to WDC.
Users are solely responsible for ensuring that they have all rights, licences and permissions necessary to publish User Content through the Service.
6.2 Licence Granted to WDC
By uploading or otherwise making User Content available through the Service, the User grants WDC a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, display, transmit, distribute within the Service and make technical modifications to the User Content solely as reasonably necessary to:
- operate the Service;
- provide requested features;
- maintain and secure the Service;
- improve functionality;
- comply with legal obligations; and
- protect the integrity of the Service.
This licence does not transfer ownership of User Content to WDC.
6.3 Technical Processing
Users acknowledge that operating the Service requires technical processing of User Content.
Such processing may include:
- image optimisation;
- media compression;
- thumbnail generation;
- metadata removal;
- file format conversion;
- malware scanning;
- AI-assisted analysis;
- search indexing; and
- encrypted backups.
Technical processing does not affect ownership of User Content.

- publication of the Content is lawful;

WDC may review, restrict, hide or remove User Content where reasonably necessary to:
- comply with applicable law;
- enforce these Terms;
- investigate abuse;
- protect Users;
- maintain Service security; or
- respond to valid legal requests.
Removal or restriction of User Content does not by itself imply that the User has committed wrongdoing.
6.7 Intellectual Property Complaints
WDC respects intellectual property rights.
Any person claiming that User Content infringes their rights may submit a sufficiently detailed notice for review.
Following review, WDC may:
- temporarily disable access to the Content;
- request additional information;
- notify the affected User;
- restore the Content where appropriate.
Knowingly submitting false infringement claims may constitute a violation of applicable law.
6.8 Visibility of User Content
Depending on Service functionality and User settings, User Content may be visible to:
- other Users;
- Premium Members;
- Users with authorised access;
- administrators and moderators; and
- automated moderation systems.
Visibility options may change as the Service evolves.
Publication of User Content does not constitute approval, endorsement or verification by WDC.
6.9 User Removal of Content
Where technically supported, Users may edit, replace or remove their User Content.
Removal from public view does not necessarily result in immediate deletion from backups, security records, audit logs or information retained to comply with legal obligations.
Further information is provided in the Privacy Policy and the Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy.
6.10 Artificial Intelligence
Certain Service features may use artificial intelligence to assist with moderation, fraud detection, spam detection, image analysis, translation, accessibility improvements and other Service functions.
AI-generated results may be inaccurate or incomplete and should not be regarded as definitive.
Where appropriate, important moderation decisions may include human review.
6.11 No Obligation to Publish
Submission of User Content does not create any obligation for WDC to publish, display or continue displaying that Content.
WDC may determine how User Content is presented within the Service, subject to applicable law.
6.12 Service Analytics and Promotion
WDC may use anonymised, aggregated or non-identifiable information derived from User activity to analyse, improve and promote the Service.
WDC will not use identifiable User photographs, profile information or private communications in public marketing without the User's consent unless permitted by applicable law.
6.13 Duration of Licence
The licence granted under Section 6.2 ends when the relevant User Content is permanently removed from the Service, except where continued retention is reasonably necessary for:
- compliance with legal obligations;
- dispute resolution;
- fraud prevention;
- security investigations;
- backup retention; or
- enforcement of these Terms.
6.14 Third-Party Rights
Where User Content relates to another identifiable individual, the User is responsible for ensuring that publication is lawful and that any necessary permissions or consents have been obtained.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the User agrees to indemnify WDC against claims arising from the unlawful publication of third-party material submitted by the User.
Chapter 7 – Messaging & Communication
7.1 Purpose
The messaging features of World Date Center are intended to facilitate respectful, voluntary and lawful communication between Users.
All communications made through the Service remain subject to these Terms, the Community Standards and applicable law.
The availability of messaging features may depend on Account status, verification status, subscription level, Credits or other Service requirements.
7.2 Private Messaging
The Service may enable Users to exchange private messages.
Private messaging is provided solely as a communication feature and does not create any legal relationship between Users or between WDC and the participants beyond the provision of the Service.
Users remain solely responsible for the content of their communications.
7.3 Credit-Based Messaging
Certain messaging features may require the use of Credits.
The Credit cost of a messaging feature may vary and may be modified by WDC from time to time.
Applicable Credit requirements will be displayed before the relevant transaction is completed.
Once a Credit-based action has been successfully completed, the corresponding Credits are deemed consumed and are generally non-refundable unless required by applicable law or expressly stated otherwise.
7.4 Contact Exchange
The Service may provide an optional Contact Exchange feature allowing Users to share personal contact information by mutual consent.
No User is required to share personal contact information.
Where Contact Exchange is available:
- eligibility requirements may apply;
- the receiving User may freely accept or decline the request; and
- contact information is shared only after the receiving User has expressly consented.
WDC does not verify the accuracy of contact information voluntarily exchanged between Users.
7.5 Sharing Personal Information
Users should exercise caution when sharing personal information.
Users are strongly encouraged not to disclose sensitive information such as:
- financial or banking information;
- passwords or authentication credentials;
- government-issued identification numbers;
- security codes; or
- other highly sensitive personal information.
Any information voluntarily disclosed is shared entirely at the User's own discretion and risk.
7.6 Attachments and Media
Where supported by the Service, Users may exchange photographs, files or other media through private communications.
Attachments may be subject to automated security scanning, malware detection, AI-assisted analysis and, where reasonably necessary, human review.
Users remain solely responsible for all material they transmit.
7.7 Privacy of Communications
WDC respects the privacy of User communications and does not routinely read or actively monitor private conversations.
However, WDC may access, preserve or review communications where reasonably necessary to:
- investigate suspected violations of these Terms;
- respond to User reports;
- comply with applicable law;
- respond to lawful requests from competent authorities;
- detect fraud or security threats; or
- protect the safety of Users or the Service.
Any review will be limited to what is reasonably necessary under the circumstances.
7.8 Misuse of Messaging Features
Messaging features must not be used for unlawful or abusive purposes, including harassment, threats, spam, fraud, malware distribution, impersonation or repeated unwanted communication.
Where appropriate, WDC may restrict messaging privileges independently of other Account features.
7.9 Blocking and Reporting
The Service may provide tools allowing Users to block communications from specific Users and to report conversations that they reasonably believe violate these Terms.
Reports should be submitted in good faith.
Submission of a report does not automatically result in enforcement action.
Reported communications may be reviewed in accordance with WDC's moderation procedures.
7.10 Message Delivery and Availability
WDC will use reasonable efforts to make messaging features available.
However, WDC does not guarantee:
- immediate delivery;
- uninterrupted availability;
- permanent message storage; or
- successful delivery under all technical conditions.
Technical failures, maintenance, moderation or security measures may delay, restrict or prevent message delivery.
7.11 Message Retention
Messages may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- operate the Service;
- comply with legal obligations;
- resolve disputes;
- prevent fraud;
- protect security; or
- enforce these Terms.
Further information regarding message retention is provided in the Privacy Policy and the Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy.
7.12 User Safety
Users should exercise caution when communicating with individuals they meet through the Service.
In particular, Users are encouraged to:
- avoid sending money to persons they have not independently verified;
- avoid sharing sensitive personal information prematurely;
- verify identities before arranging in-person meetings; and
- report suspicious behaviour promptly.
WDC does not guarantee the honesty, identity, intentions or conduct of any User.
7.13 Communications Outside the Service
Once Users voluntarily exchange contact information outside the Service, any subsequent communication occurs independently of WDC.
WDC is not responsible for communications, transactions, agreements or disputes occurring outside the Service.
7.14 Future Communication Features
WDC may introduce additional communication features, including voice or video messaging, voice or video calls, translation services, AI-assisted communication tools, enhanced media sharing, read receipts, message reactions or disappearing messages.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, such features will automatically be governed by these Terms.
7.15 Freedom to Communicate
No User is obligated to respond to messages, Contact Exchange requests or other communications.
Users may discontinue communication at any time.
Attempts to pressure, manipulate or coerce another User into continuing communication may constitute a violation of these Terms.
Chapter 8 – Paid Services
8.1 Purpose of Paid Services
World Date Center may offer optional paid products, subscriptions and digital services designed to enhance the User experience.
Participation in Paid Services is entirely voluntary. A basic Account may generally be used without purchasing Paid Services unless access to a particular feature expressly requires payment.
The availability, functionality and scope of Paid Services may change as the Service evolves.
8.2 Credits
Certain Service features may require the use of digital Credits.
Credits are digital units issued solely for use within the Service and have no independent monetary value.
Unless required by applicable law, Credits:
- are non-transferable;
- cannot be redeemed for cash;
- cannot be exchanged for legal tender;
- do not accrue interest; and
- do not constitute electronic money, stored value or a bank deposit.
Credits may be purchased or awarded through promotional campaigns or other programmes operated by WDC.
Credits are consumed when used for eligible Service features.
Once validly consumed, Credits are generally non-refundable unless required by applicable law or where WDC determines that a technical error has occurred.
8.3 Premium Membership
WDC may offer one or more Premium Membership plans providing access to additional features and benefits.
Premium Membership may include, without limitation:
- enhanced profile visibility;
- expanded profile viewing;
- additional photograph access;
- premium search features; and
- other premium functionality introduced from time to time.
Available benefits may vary depending on:
- subscription plan;
- country or region;
- applicable law;
- technical platform; or
- future Service development.
Premium Membership provides access only to the benefits available at the time of purchase and does not create a permanent entitlement to any particular feature.
8.4 Gallery Unlock
The Gallery Unlock feature may allow a User to purchase access to additional photographs associated with a specific User Profile.
Gallery Unlock grants a limited right to view the unlocked photographs through the Service.
It does not:
- transfer ownership of any photograph;
- transfer intellectual property rights; or
- permit downloading, copying, redistribution or commercial use except where expressly authorised by the Service.
Profile owners may add, replace or remove photographs after Gallery Unlock has been purchased.
Accordingly, WDC does not guarantee the continued availability of any specific photograph.
8.5 Advertising Purchases
Advertising products and campaign placements may be purchased through the Service where available.
Before confirming a purchase, the advertiser may be required to select campaign options including placement, geographic targeting, duration, scheduling or other available settings.
An advertising campaign becomes eligible for delivery only after the applicable payment has been confirmed and the campaign has completed any required moderation or approval process.
Detailed rules governing campaign creation, approval, delivery and advertiser responsibilities are set out in Chapter 9 – Advertising Services.
8.6 Future Paid Services
WDC may introduce additional paid products or digital services, including, without limitation:
- Profile Boosts;
- profile promotion;
- virtual gifts;

- video features;
- additional privacy controls; or
- other optional functionality.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, future Paid Services will automatically be governed by these Terms.
8.7 Availability
Paid Services may not be available in every country or jurisdiction.
Availability may depend on:
- applicable law;
- regulatory requirements;
- payment provider availability;
- technical compatibility;
- platform restrictions; or
- business considerations.
WDC may introduce, modify, suspend or discontinue Paid Services in particular jurisdictions where reasonably necessary.
8.8 Pricing and Currency
Prices are determined by WDC and displayed before purchase.
Prices may vary depending on:
- country or region;
- local purchasing power;
- applicable taxes;
- currency;
- promotional campaigns;
- subscription plan; or
- platform requirements.
Where required by law, applicable taxes will be included in or added to the displayed price during checkout.
Currency conversion performed by financial institutions or payment providers is outside WDC's control.
WDC may modify prices at any time, but price changes do not affect purchases completed before the revised prices become effective.
8.9 Payment Providers and Processing
Payments may be processed by independent third-party payment service providers.
Payment processing is governed by the applicable terms and privacy policies of those providers.
Unless expressly stated otherwise and permitted by applicable law, WDC does not store complete payment card information.
Payment processing may involve third parties located in different jurisdictions.
8.10 Payment Authorisation
By submitting payment information, the User confirms that:
- they are authorised to use the selected payment method;
- the payment information is accurate and complete;
- sufficient funds or credit are available; and
- the transaction complies with applicable law.
WDC may decline any transaction that reasonably appears to be fraudulent, unauthorised or unlawful.
8.11 Payment Confirmation
A purchase is completed only after successful payment authorisation and confirmation by the relevant payment provider.
If payment is unsuccessful, WDC is not required to provide the requested Paid Service.
Where available, an electronic receipt or confirmation may be issued following a successful transaction.
8.12 Taxes
Users are responsible for any taxes, duties or governmental charges applicable to their purchases unless collected by WDC during the payment process.
Tax treatment may vary depending on the User's location, applicable legislation, payment provider or the nature of the purchased Service.
8.13 Subscription Billing
Where subscription-based services are offered, the applicable billing interval will be disclosed before purchase.
Depending on the subscription and applicable law, subscriptions may:
- renew automatically;
- require manual renewal; or
- expire at the end of the purchased period.
Where available, Users may manage subscription settings through the Service.
8.14 Failed Payments
If a payment cannot be completed, WDC may:
- decline the purchase;
- suspend access to the requested Paid Service;
- retry payment where permitted;
- request another payment method; or
- suspend subscription renewal until successful payment is received.
Repeated payment failures may result in suspension of Paid Services.
8.15 Fraud Prevention
To protect Users and the Service, WDC may use fraud prevention measures, including automated risk assessment and identity verification where appropriate.
Where fraud or other unlawful activity is reasonably suspected, WDC may:
- delay or suspend payment processing;
- request additional verification;
- cancel the transaction;
- suspend associated Accounts; or
- cooperate with financial institutions and competent authorities where required by law.
8.16 Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If a User initiates a chargeback or payment dispute, WDC may investigate the matter.
Where a chargeback appears to be fraudulent or unjustified, WDC may, to the extent permitted by applicable law:
- suspend access to Paid Services;
- suspend or terminate the User Account;
- recover unpaid amounts; or
- deny future purchases until the matter has been resolved.
Nothing in this Section limits the User's statutory rights to dispute unauthorised or unlawful payment transactions.
8.17 Promotional Offers and Pricing
WDC may offer promotional prices, discounts, bonus Credits or other limited-time offers.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- promotions are temporary;
- eligibility requirements may apply;
- promotions may be withdrawn; and
- promotions cannot be combined.
Completed purchases are not affected by subsequent pricing changes.
8.18 Payment Security
WDC uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to help protect payment transactions.
However, WDC does not guarantee uninterrupted operation of electronic payment systems or protection against every technical failure or unauthorised activity.
Users should promptly notify both WDC and the relevant payment provider if they suspect unauthorised use of a payment method.
8.19 Payment Records
WDC may retain payment and transaction records for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- comply with legal obligations;
- satisfy accounting and tax requirements;
- prevent fraud;
- resolve disputes; or
- enforce these Terms.
Further information is provided in the Privacy Policy.
8.20 Payment Methods
WDC may introduce, modify or discontinue supported payment methods at any time.
Available payment methods may vary depending on:
- country;
- currency;
- payment provider;
- applicable law; or
- technical platform.
WDC does not guarantee the continued availability of any particular payment method.
8.21 Suspension of Paid Services
Where a User materially breaches these Terms, WDC may suspend or restrict access to Paid Services where reasonably necessary to:
- protect the Service;
- prevent fraud;
- investigate abuse;
- comply with applicable law; or
- protect other Users.
Where appropriate, access may be restored after the matter has been resolved.
Nothing in this Section limits any mandatory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
8.22 No Guarantee of Results
Paid Services provide access to additional functionality only.
WDC does not guarantee that purchasing any Paid Service will result in:
- successful matches;
- increased profile popularity;
- responses from other Users;
- approval of Contact Exchange requests;
- personal relationships;
- advertising success; or
- any other specific outcome.
8.23 No Financial Relationship
Purchasing Paid Services does not create a banking, fiduciary, investment or financial advisory relationship between WDC and the User.
Credits, subscriptions and other Paid Services represent contractual rights to access Service features only and do not constitute deposits, investments or financial instruments.
8.24 Refunds
Refund eligibility depends on the type of Paid Service purchased, applicable consumer protection legislation and WDC’s separate Refund Policy.
Certain digital services may become non-refundable once performance has begun or the digital benefit has been supplied, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory statutory rights that cannot legally be waived.
Chapter 9 – Advertising Services
9.1 Purpose
World Date Center may provide Advertising Services enabling businesses, organisations and eligible individuals to promote lawful products, services, events and other content through the Service.
Advertising Services support the operation of the Service while providing advertisers with opportunities to reach relevant audiences.
All advertising must comply with these Terms, applicable law and WDC's Advertising Standards.
9.2 Eligibility
Advertising Services may only be used by persons or organisations legally entitled to advertise the relevant products or services.
Advertisers are solely responsible for ensuring that their advertisements comply with all applicable laws and regulations in every jurisdiction where they are displayed.
WDC may request additional information or documentation before approving advertising campaigns.
9.3 Campaign Creation
Advertisers may create and manage campaigns using the tools provided by the Service.
Campaigns may include, without limitation:
- images;
- text;
- logos;
- branding;
- promotional messages;
- destination links;
- geographic targeting;
- placement selection;
- scheduling; and
- budgets.
Campaign options may change as the Service evolves.
9.4 Review and Approval
Advertisements are subject to moderation before publication.
WDC may use automated systems, artificial intelligence and human review to assess compliance with these Terms, applicable law and Advertising Standards.
Approval of an advertisement does not constitute an endorsement or verification of the advertiser or the advertised products or services.
WDC may approve, reject, suspend or remove advertisements at its reasonable discretion.
9.5 Advertising Standards
Advertisements must:
- be truthful and not misleading;
- accurately represent the advertised products or services;
- comply with applicable consumer protection and advertising laws;
- respect intellectual property rights; and
- avoid deceptive, discriminatory or offensive content.
Advertisements must not promote unlawful or prohibited content, including fraud, counterfeit goods, malware, pornography, child exploitation, terrorism, hate speech or any activity prohibited by applicable law or WDC policies.
Additional advertising requirements may be published separately in WDC's Advertising Standards.
9.6 Campaign Availability
The publication and delivery of advertisements depend on factors including:
- successful moderation;
- payment confirmation;
- campaign configuration;
- targeting criteria;
- available advertising inventory; and
- technical availability.
WDC does not guarantee uninterrupted advertisement delivery.
9.7 Targeting and Placement
Where supported by the Service, advertisers may select countries, regions or other targeting criteria.
Advertisements may appear in various locations within the Service, including profile listings, search results, banners, featured sections and future advertising formats.
Advertisement placement, rotation and presentation are determined by WDC.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, purchasing advertising does not guarantee a fixed position or delivery to every eligible User.
9.8 Campaign Statistics
WDC may provide advertisers with campaign statistics, including impressions, clicks, click-through rates, geographic distribution, device information and other analytical data.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, such statistics are provided for informational purposes only.
Minor discrepancies caused by fraud prevention, filtering or technical processing do not constitute a breach of these Terms.
9.9 Advertiser Responsibility
Advertisers remain solely responsible for:
- the legality of their advertisements;
- advertising claims;
- destination websites;
- promoted products or services;
- compliance with consumer protection laws; and
- obtaining all necessary licences, permissions and approvals.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, advertisers agree to indemnify WDC against claims arising from unlawful or misleading advertising.
9.10 Intellectual Property
Advertisers represent that they own or have all necessary rights to the advertising materials they submit.
Ownership of advertising materials remains with the advertiser.
The advertiser grants WDC a limited licence to host, reproduce, display and distribute those materials solely for operating the advertising campaign.
9.11 Campaign Changes
Advertisers may modify campaigns where supported by the Service.
Material modifications may require renewed moderation before publication.
Previously approved advertisements may also be re-evaluated where reasonably necessary.
9.12 Suspension or Removal
WDC may suspend, pause or remove advertising campaigns where reasonably necessary to:
- enforce these Terms;
- comply with applicable law;
- prevent fraud;
- protect the Service;
- investigate abuse; or
- address payment or security issues.
Where reasonably practicable, WDC may inform the advertiser of the reason for the action.
9.13 No Guarantee of Commercial Results
Advertising Services provide advertising opportunities only.
WDC does not guarantee:
- impressions;
- clicks;
- sales;
- enquiries;
- customer acquisition;
- return on investment; or
- any other commercial outcome.
Campaign performance depends on numerous factors beyond WDC's reasonable control.
9.14 Future Advertising Services
WDC may introduce additional advertising features, including audience segmentation, demographic targeting, behavioural targeting where legally permitted, automated bidding, sponsored profiles, video advertising, AI-assisted optimisation and additional reporting tools.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, future advertising features will automatically be governed by these Terms.
9.15 Advertising Fees
Advertising fees, pricing models and billing methods are determined by WDC.
Fees may vary depending on campaign configuration, targeting options, geographic scope, pricing model, promotional offers or other business factors.
Applicable charges will be displayed before an advertising campaign is confirmed.
Refunds relating to Advertising Services are governed by the Refund Policy and applicable law.
Chapter 10 – Intellectual Property
10.1 Ownership of the Service
The Service, including its software, source code, databases, design, user interfaces, graphics, logos, trademarks, documentation and all related intellectual property rights, is owned by or licensed to World Date Center or its licensors.
Except as expressly provided in these Terms, no ownership rights are transferred to the User.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved by WDC and its licensors.
10.2 Limited Licence
Subject to these Terms, WDC grants each User a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the Service solely for its intended purpose.
Unless expressly permitted by applicable law or by WDC in writing, Users may not:
- copy the Service;
- modify the Service;
- reverse engineer the Service;

- distribute or sublicense the Service; or
- exploit the Service for commercial purposes.
10.3 WDC Trademarks
The names World Date Center, WDC, together with associated logos, branding, graphics, slogans and other identifiers, may constitute trademarks or other protected intellectual property.
Nothing in these Terms grants any licence to use WDC's trademarks except where expressly authorised by WDC or required by applicable law.
10.4 User Content
Ownership of User Content is governed by Chapter 6.
Users retain ownership of their User Content subject to the limited licence granted to WDC for operating the Service.
10.5 Third-Party Intellectual Property
The Service may incorporate software, technologies, trademarks or other materials owned by third parties.
Such materials remain the property of their respective owners and are governed by the applicable licence terms.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of third-party intellectual property to Users.
10.6 Respect for Intellectual Property Rights
Users must respect the intellectual property rights of WDC and third parties.
Users must not upload, publish or distribute material that infringes copyrights, trademarks, patents, database rights, trade secrets, design rights or other proprietary rights.
Users remain solely responsible for ensuring that they possess all necessary rights to any material they submit.
10.7 Intellectual Property Complaints
Any person who reasonably believes that material available through the Service infringes their intellectual property rights may submit a sufficiently detailed notice to WDC.
Following review, WDC may:
- request additional information;
- temporarily disable access to the disputed material;
- notify the affected User; or
- remove or restore the material where appropriate.
Knowingly submitting false infringement claims may have legal consequences under applicable law.
10.8 Repeated Infringement
Users who repeatedly infringe intellectual property rights may be subject to progressively stronger enforcement measures, including Content removal, feature restrictions, Account suspension or permanent Account termination.
The appropriate action will depend upon the nature, severity and frequency of the infringement.
10.9 Software and Updates
The Service may receive software updates, including security improvements, bug fixes, compatibility updates, performance enhancements and new functionality.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, all updates form part of the Service and are governed by these Terms.
10.10 Feedback
Users may voluntarily provide suggestions, ideas, comments or other feedback regarding the Service.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, WDC may use such feedback without restriction and without any obligation to provide compensation.
Providing feedback does not transfer ownership of the User's intellectual property except to the extent necessary for WDC to use the feedback to improve the Service.
10.11 Open Source Software
The Service may include software distributed under open-source licences.
Such software remains subject to its applicable open-source licence.
Where required, WDC will make the relevant licence terms available.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights granted under applicable open-source licences.
10.12 Prohibited Use of WDC Intellectual Property
Without WDC's prior written permission, Users must not:
- reproduce substantial portions of the Service;
- scrape or systematically collect data from the Service;
- copy User or profile databases;
- extract advertising data for commercial purposes;
- harvest User information using automated tools;
- create competing databases using information obtained through the Service; or
- use bots or automated access tools except where expressly authorised.
Nothing in this Section limits activities expressly permitted by mandatory applicable law.
10.13 Reservation of Rights
Except for the limited rights expressly granted under these Terms, WDC and its licensors retain all intellectual property rights in and to the Service.
No licence shall be implied by these Terms.
10.14 Survival
This Chapter survives the termination of these Terms and the closure of a User Account to the extent reasonably necessary to protect the intellectual property rights of WDC, its licensors and third parties.
Chapter 11 – Privacy & Data Protection
11.1 Commitment to Privacy
World Date Center is committed to processing personal data lawfully, fairly and transparently and to protecting the privacy and security of its Users in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
This Chapter provides a general overview of WDC's privacy principles. Detailed information regarding the processing of personal data is set out in the separate Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
11.2 Personal Data
WDC may collect and process personal data necessary to operate, maintain and improve the Service.
Depending on how the Service is used, this may include:
- Account information;
- profile information;
- photographs and media;
- messages and communications;
- payment-related information;
- technical device information;
- usage data;
- location information where voluntarily provided; and
- customer support communications.
The categories of personal data processed may change as the Service evolves.
11.3 Purpose of Processing
Personal data may be processed for purposes including:
- providing and maintaining the Service;
- managing User Accounts;
- operating Paid Services;
- processing payments;
- facilitating User communications;
- customer support;
- fraud prevention;
- security;
- enforcing these Terms;
- improving the Service;
- legal compliance;
- analytics; and
- developing new features.
Personal data will not be processed for purposes incompatible with the Privacy Policy except where permitted or required by applicable law.
11.4 Legal Basis
Where required by applicable law, WDC processes personal data only where a valid legal basis exists.
Depending on the processing activity, this may include:
- performance of a contract;
- compliance with legal obligations;
- legitimate interests;
- User consent;
- protection of vital interests; or
- any other lawful basis recognised by applicable legislation.
11.5 Sharing of Personal Data
WDC may share personal data only where reasonably necessary to operate the Service or where required by law.
Recipients may include service providers, payment processors, hosting providers, analytics providers, fraud prevention services, professional advisers and competent authorities.
WDC does not sell Users' personal data.
11.6 International Transfers
Personal data may be processed or stored in countries other than the User's country of residence.
Where required by applicable law, WDC will implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers, including recognised transfer mechanisms such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
11.7 User Rights
Where provided by applicable law, Users may have rights including:
- access;
- rectification;
- erasure;
- restriction of processing;
- objection;
- data portability;
- withdrawal of consent; and
- the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.
The exercise of these rights may be subject to identity verification and applicable legal limitations.
11.8 Cookies
The Service may use cookies and similar technologies to support security, authentication, functionality, analytics and other legitimate Service operations.
Further information is provided in WDC's separate Cookie Policy.
11.9 Security
WDC implements reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, disclosure or misuse.
No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, and Users are also responsible for protecting their own Accounts and devices.
11.10 Data Retention
Personal data is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, protect the Service or enforce these Terms.
Further information is provided in the Privacy Policy and the Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy.
11.11 Artificial Intelligence
WDC may use artificial intelligence to support moderation, fraud detection, spam detection, image analysis, translation, accessibility, recommendation systems and other Service improvements.
AI is used as a supporting tool and may not always produce accurate results.
Where appropriate, significant moderation decisions may involve human review.
11.12 Communications
Where permitted by applicable law, WDC may send Users:
- Service announcements;
- account notifications;
- transactional communications; and
- marketing communications.
Users may opt out of marketing communications where applicable.
Communications necessary for providing the Service may continue even after marketing preferences have been changed.
11.13 Third-Party Services
The Service may link to, integrate with or rely upon independent third-party services.
Those services operate under their own privacy policies, and WDC is not responsible for their privacy practices.
11.14 Privacy Policy
The detailed processing of personal data is governed by WDC's separate Privacy Policy.
Where a conflict exists between this Chapter and the Privacy Policy regarding specific processing activities, the Privacy Policy prevails.
11.15 Changes to Privacy Practices
WDC may update its privacy practices to reflect changes in legislation, regulatory guidance, technology, the Service or operational requirements.
Material changes will be communicated where required by applicable law.
Continued use of the Service after such changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated privacy documentation where permitted by applicable law.
Chapter 12 – Safety & Moderation
12.1 Purpose
World Date Center is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful and trustworthy environment for all Users.
To support this objective, WDC uses technical measures, automated systems, human moderation and User reporting to detect, prevent and respond to violations of these Terms.
Moderation is intended to protect both the integrity of the Service and the safety of its Users.
12.2 Moderation Methods
WDC may use one or more moderation methods, including:
- automated content analysis;
- artificial intelligence;
- human review;
- User reports;
- behavioural analysis;
- fraud detection;
- security monitoring; and
- identity or age verification where applicable.
Moderation methods may evolve as technology, legal requirements and the Service develop.
12.3 Scope of Moderation
Moderation may apply to any material or activity associated with the Service, including:
- User profiles;
- photographs and media;
- advertisements;
- usernames;
- messages where review is permitted by these Terms and applicable law;
- uploaded files;
- payment-related abuse;
- Account activity; and
- technical misuse of the Service.
12.4 Reporting Violations
Users are encouraged to report content or behaviour they reasonably believe violates these Terms or applicable law.
Reports should be submitted honestly and in good faith.
Knowingly submitting false, malicious or abusive reports may itself constitute a violation of these Terms.
WDC may investigate reports using information reasonably available to it.
12.5 Investigations
Where WDC reasonably believes that a violation may have occurred, it may conduct an investigation proportionate to the circumstances.
An investigation may include reviewing relevant User Content, Account history, moderation records, technical logs, payment activity, communications where authorised and other information reasonably necessary to determine the facts.
12.6 Enforcement
Where WDC reasonably determines that these Terms have been violated, it may take one or more enforcement measures, including:
- issuing warnings;
- removing Content;
- restricting features;
- rejecting uploaded material;
- limiting profile visibility;
- suspending messaging, advertising or Paid Services;
- temporarily suspending an Account;
- permanently terminating an Account; or
- restricting future registrations.
The measures taken will normally reflect the nature, severity and frequency of the violation.
12.7 Immediate Action
WDC may take immediate action without prior notice where reasonably necessary to:
- protect Users;
- prevent fraud;
- protect the security of the Service;
- comply with legal obligations;
- stop ongoing abuse;
- preserve evidence; or
- respond to urgent risks.
Where appropriate, WDC may provide information about the action taken after the immediate risk has been addressed.
12.8 Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence may assist WDC in detecting prohibited content, spam, scams, fraud, abusive behaviour, policy violations and technical attacks.
AI supports—but does not replace—human judgement.
Automated systems may occasionally produce inaccurate results. Where appropriate and reasonably practicable, significant enforcement decisions may be subject to human review.
12.9 User Cooperation
Users agree to cooperate reasonably with moderation and security investigations.
Where reasonably necessary, WDC may request clarification of Account or Profile information, identity or age verification, supporting documentation or explanations relating to reported activity.
Failure to cooperate may result in restrictions on access to certain Service features.
12.10 Illegal Content
Where WDC becomes aware of content that reasonably appears to violate applicable law, it may remove or disable access to that content, preserve relevant evidence, restrict the associated Account, notify competent authorities where permitted or required by law and cooperate with lawful investigations.
Nothing in this Section requires WDC to proactively monitor all User activity.
12.11 Appeals
Where appropriate, Users may request a review of certain moderation decisions.
WDC may request additional information before completing its review.
Following review, WDC may:
- uphold the original decision;
- modify the decision;
- restore removed Content; or
- reverse enforcement measures where appropriate.
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that the original decision will be changed.
12.12 User Safety
Although WDC employs reasonable measures to promote User safety, Users remain responsible for exercising appropriate caution when interacting with others.
WDC recommends that Users:
- meet in public places when meeting another User for the first time;
- inform someone they trust of their plans;
- avoid sending money to people known only through the Service;
- verify identities independently where appropriate; and
- discontinue communication if they feel unsafe.
WDC cannot guarantee the conduct, honesty or intentions of any User.
12.13 No Duty to Monitor
WDC is not obligated to proactively monitor every Profile, message, advertisement or other activity conducted through the Service.
The absence of moderation action does not imply approval, endorsement or verification of any User or Content.
12.14 Cooperation with Authorities
Where required or permitted by applicable law, WDC may cooperate with courts, law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, data protection authorities, consumer protection authorities and other competent public bodies.
Such cooperation may include preserving or disclosing information where legally authorised or required.
12.15 Continuous Improvement
WDC continually develops its safety and moderation systems.
Accordingly, WDC may introduce new moderation technologies, reporting mechanisms, verification procedures, fraud prevention measures, security tools and other community protection features.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, such improvements become part of the Service without requiring amendments to this Chapter.
Chapter 13 – Availability of the Service
13.1 General Availability
World Date Center is committed to providing a reliable and continuously improving Service.
However, the Service is provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
While WDC makes reasonable efforts to maintain availability and functionality, uninterrupted, error-free or continuous operation cannot be guaranteed.
13.2 Maintenance and Updates
WDC may perform scheduled or unscheduled maintenance, updates or infrastructure changes to:
- improve the Service;
- install updates;
- enhance security;
- resolve technical issues;
- upgrade infrastructure; or
- introduce new functionality.
Such work may temporarily affect the availability of some or all parts of the Service.
Where reasonably practicable, WDC will provide advance notice of planned maintenance.
13.3 Service Interruptions
The availability of the Service may be affected by circumstances beyond WDC's reasonable control, including failures of internet connectivity, telecommunications, third-party services, hardware, software, power supplies, cyberattacks, natural disasters or governmental actions.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, WDC is not liable for temporary interruptions resulting from such events.
13.4 Changes to the Service
WDC may modify, improve, replace or discontinue any feature or part of the Service at any time.
This may include introducing new functionality, redesigning user interfaces, improving security, enhancing performance or removing obsolete features.
Unless required by applicable law, WDC is not obligated to maintain any particular feature indefinitely.
13.5 Temporary Suspension
WDC may temporarily suspend access to all or part of the Service where reasonably necessary to:
- protect the Service or its Users;
- investigate technical or security incidents;
- prevent fraud or abuse;
- comply with legal obligations;
- perform maintenance; or
- respond to emergencies.
Where reasonably practicable, WDC will restore affected services as soon as reasonably possible.
13.6 Third-Party Services
Certain Service functions depend upon independent third-party providers, including payment processors, cloud infrastructure, internet connectivity, authentication, email delivery, analytics and security services.
WDC is not responsible for interruptions caused solely by failures of such independent providers.
13.7 Feature Availability
Available features may vary depending on:
- country or region;
- applicable law;
- subscription level;
- verification status;
- technical platform;
- device compatibility; or
- Service configuration.
Accordingly, not all Users will necessarily have access to identical functionality.
13.8 Beta Features
WDC may offer experimental, preview or beta features.
Such features may be modified, interrupted or discontinued at any time and may not be supported to the same standard as generally available features.
Use of beta features is voluntary and at the User's own risk.
13.9 Data Protection and Backups
WDC employs reasonable technical measures designed to reduce the risk of data loss.
However, no electronic system can guarantee complete protection against data loss, corruption, hardware failure, cyberattacks or catastrophic events.
Users are encouraged to retain independent copies of information that is important to them where appropriate.
13.10 No Service Level Guarantee
Unless expressly agreed in writing, WDC does not guarantee:
- uninterrupted availability;
- continuous operation;
- minimum uptime;
- uninterrupted messaging;
- uninterrupted advertising delivery; or
- uninterrupted Premium functionality.
Temporary interruptions do not, by themselves, constitute a breach of these Terms.
13.11 Force Majeure
WDC is not liable for delays, interruptions or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labour disputes, governmental actions, pandemics, failures of public utilities, internet infrastructure failures, cyberattacks or acts or omissions of independent third parties.
Performance of WDC's obligations may be suspended for the duration of such events.
13.12 User Responsibility
Users are responsible for maintaining compatible devices, supported software, internet connectivity and reasonable security measures for their own equipment.
WDC is not responsible for failures arising solely from unsupported or insecure User devices or software.
13.13 Service Communications
Where reasonably necessary, WDC may notify Users of planned maintenance, significant incidents or important operational information through the Service, email, notifications or other official communication channels.
Users are responsible for keeping their contact information up to date.
13.14 Reservation of Rights
Subject to applicable law and any contractual obligations owed to existing Users, WDC may introduce new services, discontinue existing functionality, modify the Service or permanently cease operating all or part of the Service.
Where permanent discontinuation materially affects active Paid Services, WDC will act in accordance with applicable law and its contractual obligations.
Chapter 14 – Limitation of Liability
14.1 Scope
This Chapter defines the extent of WDC's liability arising from the Service and these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
14.2 Service Provided "As Is"
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
WDC does not warrant that the Service will:
- operate without interruption or error;
- always be available;
- be free from defects;
- contain only accurate Content;
- contain only genuine User Profiles;
- successfully deliver every communication; or
- meet every User's expectations.
Use of the Service is at the User's own discretion and risk.
14.3 User Conduct
WDC provides a platform through which Users may communicate and interact.
WDC does not control or direct the conduct of individual Users and does not guarantee:
- the identity or honesty of Users;
- the accuracy of User Content;
- the intentions of Users;
- the success of personal relationships; or
- the outcome of communications or meetings between Users.
Users remain solely responsible for their own decisions and interactions.
14.4 Interactions Between Users
Communications, meetings and relationships established through the Service occur entirely at the Users' own risk.
WDC is not a party to any agreement, relationship or arrangement formed between Users.
14.5 Third-Party Services
The Service may rely upon or integrate with independent third-party services.
WDC is not responsible for the availability, performance, security or content of third-party services, websites or software.
Relationships between the User and any third party are governed solely by the applicable third-party terms.
14.6 User Content
Except where expressly stated, WDC does not create, verify or endorse User Content.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WDC is not liable for inaccurate, misleading, offensive, defamatory or unlawful User Content, or for intellectual property infringements or unauthorised disclosures committed by Users.
Responsibility for User Content remains with the User who submitted it.
14.7 Paid Services
Paid Services provide access to additional functionality only.
Except where required by applicable law, WDC does not guarantee successful matches, responses from other Users, advertising performance, commercial success, personal compatibility or any other particular outcome.
14.8 Exclusion of Indirect Damages
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WDC is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, punitive or special damages, including loss of profits, business, goodwill, reputation, opportunity, anticipated savings, data or business interruption.
This limitation applies regardless of the legal basis of the claim.
14.9 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WDC's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of:
- the total amount paid by the User to WDC during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
- EUR 100.
This limitation does not apply where mandatory law prohibits such limitation.
14.10 User Responsibility
Users remain solely responsible for:
- their own decisions;
- communications and meetings with other Users;
- information they disclose;
- purchases they make; and
- compliance with applicable law.
Nothing provided through the Service replaces the User's own judgement.
14.11 Security Risks
Although WDC implements reasonable security measures, no online service can eliminate every risk associated with cyberattacks, phishing, malware, identity theft, unauthorised access or other internet security threats.
Users remain responsible for protecting their own Accounts and devices.
14.12 Force Majeure
WDC is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including the circumstances described in Chapter 15.
14.13 Non-Excludable Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
- fraud committed by WDC;
- wilful misconduct where liability cannot legally be excluded;
- death or personal injury caused by WDC's negligence where applicable law prohibits exclusion; or
- any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
14.14 Time Limits for Claims
Claims relating to the Service must be brought within the limitation period prescribed by applicable law.
Nothing in this Section limits any mandatory statutory limitation period that cannot legally be shortened or excluded.
14.15 Allocation of Risk
The pricing of the Service reflects the allocation of risk between WDC and its Users under these Terms.
The limitations contained in this Chapter are an essential basis upon which WDC makes the Service available.
If any provision of this Chapter is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Chapter 15 – Indemnification
15.1 User Responsibility
Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of the Service complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.
Users remain responsible for their own actions, omissions and any Content they submit through the Service.
15.2 Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the User agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless World Date Center, its affiliates, owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, licensors and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or relating to:
- the User's breach of these Terms;
- unlawful use of the Service;
- User Content submitted by the User;
- infringement of intellectual property rights;
- violation of the rights of another person;
- fraudulent or deceptive conduct;
- misuse of Paid Services or Advertising Services; or
- activity carried out through the User's Account.
This obligation applies only to the extent that the claim results from the User's own conduct and only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
15.3 Intellectual Property Claims
If a third party alleges that User Content infringes intellectual property rights, the User is responsible for resolving the claim and, where permitted by applicable law, indemnifying WDC for liabilities arising directly from the User's infringement.
Nothing in this Section transfers ownership of User Content to WDC.
15.4 Advertising Claims
Advertisers are solely responsible for ensuring that their advertisements comply with applicable law and do not infringe the rights of third parties.
Where a claim arises directly from an advertiser's unlawful advertisement or regulatory non-compliance, the advertiser agrees to indemnify WDC to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
15.5 User Disputes
Users are solely responsible for their interactions with one another.
WDC is not required to participate in or resolve disputes between Users.
Where appropriate, claims arising solely from interactions between Users should be directed against the responsible User rather than WDC.
15.6 Cooperation
Where a claim covered by this Chapter arises, the User agrees to cooperate reasonably with WDC, including by providing relevant information, preserving evidence and responding to reasonable requests.
15.7 WDC's Right to Control the Defence
WDC may, at its own expense, assume control of the defence or settlement of any matter subject to indemnification.
Where WDC exercises this right, the User agrees to continue cooperating reasonably.
Nothing in this Section obligates WDC to assume such control.
15.8 Exceptions
The indemnification obligations in this Chapter do not apply to the extent that a claim arises solely from:
- WDC's breach of these Terms;
- WDC's fraud;
- WDC's wilful misconduct;
- WDC's gross negligence where liability cannot legally be excluded; or
- any other liability that cannot legally be transferred or excluded.
15.9 Survival
The obligations contained in this Chapter survive termination of these Terms and closure of the User's Account to the extent necessary to resolve claims arising from the User's use of the Service.
15.10 Limitation
Nothing in this Chapter requires a User to indemnify WDC beyond the extent permitted by applicable law.
If any provision of this Chapter is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Chapter 16 – Suspension and Termination
16.1 Purpose
This Chapter governs the restriction, suspension and termination of User Accounts and access to the Service.
WDC seeks to apply such measures fairly, proportionately and consistently while protecting Users and the safety, security and integrity of the Service.
16.2 Suspension by WDC
WDC may temporarily suspend an Account or restrict access to all or part of the Service where it reasonably believes that such action is necessary.
Grounds for suspension may include:
- suspected breach of these Terms;
- suspected fraud or unlawful activity;
- security concerns;
- technical misuse or abuse;
- payment disputes or chargebacks;
- an ongoing moderation investigation;
- protection of other Users; or
- compliance with applicable law.
A suspension may apply to the entire Account or only to particular features.
16.3 Feature Restrictions
Instead of suspending an entire Account, WDC may restrict access to individual features, including:
- messaging;
- Profile visibility;
- image or media uploads;
- Advertising Services;
- Premium Membership or other Paid Services;
- use of Credits;
- Contact Exchange; or
- other Service functionality.
Restrictions may remain in effect for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate or resolve the underlying issue.
16.4 Account Closure by the User
Users may close their Accounts through the tools provided by the Service or by contacting WDC.
Account closure does not automatically:
- entitle the User to a refund;
- reverse completed transactions;
- cancel payment obligations already incurred;
- erase information that WDC is legally permitted or required to retain; or
- affect obligations that arose before closure.
Personal data will be deleted, anonymised or retained in accordance with the Privacy Policy and the Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy.
16.5 Termination by WDC
WDC may terminate an Account where it reasonably determines that:
- the User has materially or repeatedly breached these Terms;
- the Account has been used for fraud or unlawful activity;
- the User has seriously endangered another User;
- continued access presents an unacceptable legal, security or operational risk;
- the User has attempted to circumvent a previous suspension or termination; or
- termination is required by applicable law or a competent authority.
Depending on the circumstances, termination may occur with or without prior suspension or warning.
16.6 Immediate Action
WDC may suspend or terminate an Account without prior notice where immediate action is reasonably necessary to:
- protect Users from harm;
- prevent fraud or criminal activity;
- respond to an urgent security threat;
- stop serious or ongoing abuse;
- preserve evidence;
- protect the integrity of the Service; or
- comply with a legal obligation or lawful authority request.
Where required by applicable law, WDC will provide the affected User with a statement of reasons unless disclosure is prohibited or would compromise security, fraud prevention or an investigation.
16.7 Notice and Reasons
Where required by applicable law, WDC will inform the affected User of a decision to restrict, suspend or terminate access and provide the principal reasons for that decision.
The notice may include:
- the nature and duration of the restriction;
- the relevant factual circumstances;
- the provision of these Terms or law relied upon; and
- available review or appeal options.
WDC may withhold or limit information where disclosure is prohibited by law, could expose confidential security measures or could prejudice an investigation or the rights of another person.
16.8 Effect of Suspension or Termination
Following suspension or termination:
- access to the Account or affected features may cease immediately;
- the Profile and User Content may become inaccessible or be removed from public view;
- messaging and Contact Exchange may cease;
- Premium Membership and other Paid Services may be restricted or terminated;
- unused Credits may be forfeited, except where applicable law requires otherwise;
- advertising campaigns may be paused or terminated; and
- pending transactions may be cancelled where reasonably necessary.
Suspension or termination does not require WDC to delete information that it is legally permitted or required to retain.
16.9 Paid Services and Account Closure
Suspension, termination or voluntary Account closure does not automatically create a right to a refund.
Refunds, unused Credits, subscriptions and active advertising campaigns will be handled in accordance with Chapters 8, 10 and 11 and applicable consumer law.
Where WDC permanently terminates a Paid Service without fault by the User, WDC will provide any remedy required by applicable law.
16.10 Outstanding Obligations
Suspension, termination or Account closure does not affect rights or obligations that arose before the effective date of termination.
This includes obligations relating to:
- completed purchases and unpaid amounts;
- intellectual property rights;
- confidentiality obligations, where applicable;
- indemnification;
- disputes and legal claims;
- fraud prevention; and
- compliance with applicable law.
Such obligations survive to the extent required by their nature.
16.11 Review and Appeals
Where required by applicable law or otherwise made available by WDC, Users may request review of certain decisions to restrict, suspend or terminate an Account or Service feature.
An appeal must be submitted through the method specified by WDC and should include sufficient information to identify the decision and explain why it should be reconsidered.
WDC will review eligible appeals in a timely, diligent, objective and non-discriminatory manner. A review decision will not be based solely on automated processing where prohibited by applicable law.
Following review, WDC may:
- uphold the original decision;
- modify the restriction;
- restore the Account or affected features; or
- reverse the decision.
Submitting an appeal does not automatically suspend the original enforcement measure or guarantee reinstatement.
16.12 Re-Registration and Circumvention
A User whose Account has been permanently terminated may not create or operate another Account without WDC's prior written permission.
Users must not circumvent enforcement measures by:
- creating replacement Accounts;
- using another person's Account;
- providing false registration information;
- changing technical identifiers to avoid detection; or
- assisting another person in avoiding a restriction.
WDC may use reasonable technical and administrative measures to identify and prevent such circumvention.
16.13 Transfer of the Service
If WDC undergoes a merger, restructuring, sale, transfer of business or change in the legal entity operating the Service, User Accounts and related contractual rights may be transferred to a successor or affiliated entity in accordance with applicable law and the Privacy Policy.
Such a transfer does not, by itself, terminate the User's contractual relationship or entitle the User to compensation.
16.14 Discontinuation of the Service
WDC may permanently discontinue all or part of the Service subject to applicable law.
Where reasonably practicable, WDC will provide advance notice of a permanent discontinuation that materially affects Users.
Active Paid Services, subscriptions, Credits and advertising campaigns will be handled in accordance with applicable law and WDC's contractual obligations.
16.15 Preservation of Information
WDC may preserve information relating to suspended, closed or terminated Accounts where reasonably necessary for:
- legal compliance;
- fraud and abuse prevention;
- dispute resolution;
- enforcement of these Terms;
- protection of Users or the Service;
- responding to lawful authority requests; or
- establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.
Such information will be retained in accordance with the Privacy Policy and the Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy.
16.16 Survival
Provisions that by their nature are intended to continue after suspension, Account closure or termination remain effective.
These include provisions relating to:
- intellectual property;
- privacy and data retention;
- payments and refunds;
- limitation of liability;
- indemnification;
- dispute resolution;
- governing law; and
- outstanding legal or contractual obligations.
Chapter 17 – Governing Law, Dispute Resolution and General Provisions
17.1 Governing Law
These Terms and any contractual or non-contractual dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
If the User is a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive the User of any mandatory protection provided by the laws of the country in which the User has their habitual residence.
17.2 Informal Resolution
Before commencing formal proceedings, Users are encouraged to contact WDC and provide a reasonable opportunity to resolve the dispute informally.
WDC will seek to review complaints fairly and in good faith.
Nothing in this Section prevents either party from seeking urgent interim or protective measures where reasonably necessary.
17.3 Complaints
Questions, concerns and complaints relating to the Service should first be submitted through WDC's designated customer support or complaint-handling channels.
The User should provide sufficient information to identify the Account, transaction or conduct concerned and to enable WDC to investigate the matter.
Submission of a complaint does not suspend payment obligations, enforcement measures or other provisions of these Terms unless WDC agrees otherwise or applicable law requires it.
17.4 Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable consumer protection law.
Consumers may bring proceedings before any court having jurisdiction under applicable law, including, where applicable, the courts of the country in which the consumer is domiciled.
WDC may bring proceedings against a consumer only before a court having jurisdiction under applicable mandatory law.
17.5 Jurisdiction for Non-Consumer Users
Where the User acts for purposes relating to their trade, business, craft or profession, the courts of Finland shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, unless the parties agree otherwise in writing or mandatory law provides otherwise.
This Section does not restrict any rights granted to consumers under Section 19.4.
17.6 Alternative Dispute Resolution
Where applicable, a consumer may submit a dispute to a competent consumer alternative dispute resolution body.
Before referring a dispute to such a body, the consumer should first contact WDC and attempt to resolve the matter directly.
Participation in alternative dispute resolution does not prevent either party from bringing proceedings before a competent court unless applicable law provides otherwise.
WDC will provide information about the relevant dispute resolution body where required by applicable law.
17.7 Limitation Periods
Any claim relating to these Terms or the Service must be brought within the limitation period prescribed by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms shortens or excludes a mandatory statutory limitation period.
17.8 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, it shall, where permitted by law, be interpreted or modified only to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
If such interpretation or modification is not possible, the affected provision shall be severed.
The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
17.9 No Waiver
A failure or delay by WDC in exercising or enforcing any right or provision under these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
A waiver is effective only if expressly made in writing and applies only to the circumstances for which it was given.
17.10 Assignment and Transfer
WDC may assign or transfer its rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate restructuring, sale of assets, transfer of the Service or other business reorganisation.
Any such transfer will be carried out in accordance with applicable law and will not reduce the mandatory rights of consumers.
Users may not assign or transfer their rights or obligations under these Terms without WDC's prior written consent, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
17.11 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the policies and other documents expressly incorporated into them, constitute the entire agreement between WDC and the User concerning the Service.
The incorporated documents may include the:
- Privacy Policy;
- Payment and Refund Policy;
- Cookie Policy;
- Community Guidelines;
- Advertising Terms;
- Age and Identity Policy;
- Copyright and Illegal Content Policy; and
- Data Retention and Account Deletion Policy.
These documents supersede prior agreements, representations and communications relating to the same subject matter.
Nothing in this Section excludes liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
17.12 Notices and Electronic Communications
WDC may provide notices and communications relating to the Service or these Terms through:
- the Service;
- email;
- Account notifications; or
- other electronic communication methods made available by WDC.
Users are responsible for maintaining accurate and current contact information.
Electronic notices satisfy any requirement for written communication to the extent permitted by applicable law.
17.13 Interpretation
Headings are included for convenience only and do not affect the interpretation of these Terms.
Unless the context requires otherwise:
- words in the singular include the plural and vice versa;
- references to a person include individuals and legal entities;
- references to legislation include amendments, replacements and subordinate legislation;
- “including” and similar expressions mean “including without limitation”; and
- references to writing include electronic communications where permitted by applicable law.
No provision shall be interpreted against a party solely because that party drafted or proposed it, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
17.14 Order of Precedence
If a conflict exists between these Terms and a policy or other document incorporated by reference, the more specific provision governs the relevant subject matter unless expressly stated otherwise.
Mandatory applicable law always prevails over any conflicting contractual provision.
17.15 Survival
Termination, suspension or closure of an Account does not affect any provision that is intended by its nature to continue after termination.
The relevant provisions include those concerning:
- outstanding payments and refunds;
- intellectual property;
- privacy and data retention;
- limitation of liability;
- indemnification;
- dispute resolution;
- governing law; and
- accrued rights and legal claims.
